Murat Şahin received his PhD degree from Anadolu University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Cinema and Television in 2020 with a thesis titled "Representation of the New Middle Classes in New Turkish Cinema". He is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Ondokuz Mayıs University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema. He has scientific studies in the fields of cinema sociology, cinema theories, digital platforms and audience research. Cinema Sociology, Turkish Cinema, Sociology of Communication, Cinematography, Currents in Cinema, Semiotics, Media and Social Representation are among the courses he teaches.
